On Friday 15 July 2016, a gelati tasting event was hosted by Eventalaide at the Gelista Factory. It was a great and fun night with about 20 guests attending the event.
The bespoke gelati experts at Gelista prepared Shiraz wine sorbet and beer sorbet as welcome ‘drinks’ to great all the invited “SA Foodies”.
The event started with a briefing by Peter Cox, founder of Gelista, who told the Gelista story. He shared how he started an ice cream company, and his career switch from accountant to gelati artist.
Peter explained the Gelista brand story – the essence of what Gelista stands for today – saying, “The Terroir of our ingredients, our crafting techniques, our commitment to innovation and our passion to indulge our customers come together to make a taste and texture that’s uniquely Gelista”.
This was the perfect introduction to a short film that expanded on the Gelista brand story The video included insights from three celebrity chefs: Bethany Finn (Executive Chef at The Mayfair Hotel), Jess Wood (Head Chef at Lenzerheide) and Adam Swanson (TV celebrity chef and Executive Chef at Zucca Greek Mezze).

Marble Hill Cherry gelati was churned live to create a unique experience for guests who enjoyed the fresh gelati straight from churn.
