Gelato and Summer work together like a beautifully crafted relationship, however we shouldn’t forget that the Sicilian ice-cream can be enjoyed even during the numbing Winter months. Peter Cox, owner and founder of Gelista Premium Gelati shared his thoughts on what flavours work best during the chilled months.
‘During Summer, our cooler flavours like the lemon or blood orange sorbets do so well, but the thing with gelato is that there is something for everybody’s palate no matter the season’. When asked what works well in Winter Peter recommended the warmer flavours. ‘Some products are naturally warm and some naturally cool, you need to try and find the balance depending on your palate… we have found our nut flavours, such as Hazelnuts, Roasted Almonds and our new Macadamia nut with Kangaroo Island Honey do particularly well in cooler seasons’.
We also strongly recommend the Apple Pie with warm cinnamon flavours. We love pairing it up with some South Aussie Fruchocs!
